As previously reported Charlotte will bring in young centreback Adilson Malanda (20), but will also be adding veteran right back Nathan Byrne (30) to bolster the Charlotte FC defense.
Malanda is a promising young defender from France who has began to make his name with Rodez AF in the French Ligue 2 last season making 33 appearances and logging 2,509 minutes in his first season of senior professional football.
Byrne is a veteran right back/right wing player who was most recently at Derby County before their relegation to League One, but has not featured for Derby County in pre-season having exercised his right under the Transfer of Undertakings to leave the club. He was considered to be the player of the season for many Derby fans last season. He notably performed well at previous clubs Wigan Athletic and Swindon Town as well. Byrne scored 12 goals and bagged 42 assists in 325 appearances with the three aforementioned teams.
