Per sources, Charlotte FC are in advanced talks to sign French winger Allan Saint-Maximin. While discussions have progressed significantly between all parties, the deal has not been finalized, as a few details remain under negotiation in the final stages of the contract. Charlotte are continuing to work toward an agreement, but sources stress that the move is not yet completed.
The 29-year-old winger is best known for his time in the Premier League with Newcastle United, where he made 124 appearances and recorded 13 goals while establishing himself as one of the league's most electric dribblers. Saint-Maximin has also featured for Saint-Étienne, Hannover 96, Bastia, Nice, Al-Ahli, Fenerbahçe, Club América and most recently at Lens.
Per a source, Charlotte FC have maintained long-standing interest in Allan Saint-Maximin and identified him as a replacement for Wilfried Zaha. This follows stalled negotiations between Charlotte FC and Zaha several weeks ago, when both sides mutually agreed that a long-term future together was unlikely. Since then, Charlotte have intensified their pursuit of Saint-Maximin, who has emerged as one of the club’s primary attacking targets ahead of the second half of the season. If completed, sources indicate he would join Charlotte FC as a Designated Player (DP), filling one of the club’s key marquee roster spots.
