Major League Soccer has built its reputation on accessibility. From family-friendly atmospheres to electric supporter culture, MLS has historically been a league where you can find affordable ticket prices. Yet as trophy cases fill and major names join the league, stadiums are filling up quickly. The question arises: which MLS clubs are keeping the game affordable for fans?
To answer the question, TopBin90 examines the ticket prices of several Eastern Conference teams: Charlotte FC, Nashville SC, New York Red Bulls, and FC Cincinnati. The contrasts in pricing models reveal how differently clubs reflect the idea of “for the fans.”
Charlotte FC
Charlotte FC entered the MLS in 2022 with record-breaking attendance numbers. As the squad takes the field for the 2026 season, some prices have risen noticeably.
Single Match Tickets
The club recently announced that Bank of America Stadium will close the upper bowl for the 2026 season. This announcement also comes with $26 single-match tickets through the box office and/or Ticketmaster, a 73% increase from last season’s $15 entry point, according to the Charlotte Business Journal. This jump has surely caught the attention of supporters.
But Charlotte FC's $26 tickets stand out compared to other teams, making them one of the most affordable single-match tickets in the Eastern Conference and throughout MLS.
Season Tickets
Season ticket memberships start at $34 per match, placing them above the lowest entry points offered by several MLS clubs.
Perks include:
Purchase priority for playoffs & stadium events
Party on the road through the Crowns Up & Away program
Exclusive member events & access year-round
Eight-month payment plans available
Exclusive Season Ticket Member gift
Receives a Carolina kit
Ticket representative
The Crown also offers Flex Packs, allowing fans to select four or six matches while still gaining benefits like:
Matchday perks
Early access to 2026 MLS All-Star Game tickets
For fans craving a traditional supporters’ experience, the lower-level supporters section costs $34 per match and is first-come, first-served behind the goal.
Nashville SC
In contrast, Nashville SC maintains one of the more flexible and affordable pricing structures in MLS, especially considering the club’s modern stadium and competitive performances.
Single Match Tickets
Single-game tickets generally range between $26 and $30 before fees, making Nashville’s entry price comparable to Charlotte’s prices. But Nashville’s single-match tickets remain steady from last season, unlike Charlotte.
Season Tickets
Season ticket pricing spans a wider range for Nashville SC, with field-level tickets ranging from $450 to $2,286 and 200-level tickets from $270 to $1,656.
The lowest option, $270 for the entire season, makes Nashville one of the most affordable full-season options among competitive MLS markets.
Season ticket benefits include:
Match Flex Program, allowing fans to exchange tickets they cannot use
Merchandise discounts via the club’s app
Invitations to special events and fan experiences
Annual season ticket holder gifts
Supporters Section Tickets
Supporters section tickets run for about $25 per match. For the full season, supporter section seats are around $429.
While perks are fairly standard across the league, Nashville’s strategy stands out for keeping the barrier to entry relatively low.
New York Red Bulls
As one of the original MLS franchises, Red Bull New York operates in a much older soccer market. Yet, their pricing strategy shows strong support for organized fan culture.
Single Match Tickets
For the 2026 season, NYRB offers about $38 for seats in the upper 200 level and around $71 for some lower 100-level seats.
Season Tickets
Season ticket packages begin around $525 in the South Ward, the club’s primary supporters section, and increase depending on location.
Supporters Tickets
Yet, the most unique aspect of the Red Bulls’ model is their relationship with supporters groups. Reports indicate the club has provided free or heavily subsidized tickets to official supporters. These efforts help maintain the atmosphere that MLS markets often rely on.
Typical supporters' tickets for standard matches range from $25 to $50, keeping the core fan base engaged even as general seating prices rise.
This approach suggests a deliberate effort to protect supporter culture while allowing premium seats to bear a greater financial burden.
FC Cincinnati
Few teams have experienced a rise like FC Cincinnati. Once struggling on the field, the club now sells out TQL Stadium regularly and even maintains a waiting list for season tickets.
With the demand, fans are seeing significantly higher prices.
Single Match Tickets
For Cincinnati fans, single-match tickets in The Bailey (supporters section) are about $32 per match. The 200-level seating averages $45+ while the lower-level seats start at $55+.
Season Tickets
Season ticket access for Cincinnati fans is unique. Due to high demand, fans looking for season tickets must register for the Orange & Blue reserve, costing $200 annually per account, just to maintain priority access.
Additional membership benefits include:
Early access to stadium events
Discounts on team merchandise
Apple TV MLS Season Pass access
Invitations to exclusive events
Chances at autographed merchandise and VIP experiences
Behind-the-scenes opportunities
Based on their 2025 season ticket pricing, the upper bowl cost roughly $437 to $1,311, and the lower bowl fell between $779 to $1,463. Ultimately, Cincinnati’s model reflects a classic supply-and-demand dynamic, suggesting that high-attendance teams can simply charge more.
Summary
MLS has always sold the idea that soccer is for everyone, with diehard supporters, families, and casual fans all coming together at affordable prices.
Nashville SC arguably provides one of the lowest barriers to entry for season ticket holders. Comparatively, NYRB stands out for actively supporting supporter groups with subsidized access.
Charlotte FC, despite negative press over its ticket prices, remains the cheapest single-ticket option in the Eastern Conference and the MLS as a whole. However, their cheapest ticket option is cheaper than their Supporters' section season ticket. This is atypical of how MLS tickets are generally sold, and could cause discontent among the diehard supporters who invest their time week-to-week.
At the top of the ticket pricing pyramid is FC Cincinnati, illustrating the modern MLS reality that winning and demand justify higher ticket costs.
But as stadiums fill and franchises become more valuable, ticket pricing increasingly reflects economic markets rather than accessibility.
Club | Cheapest Single Ticket | Cheapest Season Ticket | Conclusion |
Charlotte FC | $26 | ~$34 per match | New single-ticket price point in lower bowl |
Nashville SC | $26-30 | $270 | One of the lowest entry points |
New York Red Bulls | $38 | ~$525 | Subsidizing supporter culture |
FC Cincinnati | $32 | ~$437 | Demand-driven prices |
The real question moving forward is not just who sells the cheapest seats, but which clubs actively protect the fan cultures that made MLS successful in the first place, and provide their fanbases
