Nuno Santos Finalizing Move To Charlotte FC

Charlotte FC have found their new attacking midfielder, Nuno Santos. Santos, 23, is a Portuguese attacking midfielder from the Benfica youth academy. This past season, Santos was a regular starter for Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira while on loan from Benfica. At Pacos de Ferreira, Santos had five goals and two assists during the 2021/22 season*.

Santos climbed through the youth ranks at Benfica and for the Portuguese youth national team. Santos played in the UEFA Youth League in the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons. In those two tournaments, he scored eight goals. For the Portuguese youth team, Santos has earned caps all the way up to the U21 level.

Charlotte FC are bringing in a young attacking midfielder who has experience playing in one of the strongest national team youth systems in Europe, who also grew up playing for a world class club academy at Benfica. Santos is a young attacking midfielder who should provide a lot of rejuvenated excitement for the Charlotte FC fan base throughout the rest of the inaugural season.
