Charlotte FC's youngest rising star, Nimfasha Berchimas, recently received a call-up to the U.S. Youth National Team ahead of the 2026 CONCACAF U-20 Championship tournament.

Currently on Charlotte's supplemental roster, Berchimas has spent most of the 2026 MLS season on the bench under head coach Dean Smith. Making his MLS debut in 2024, the winger became the first CLTFC Academy player to make an MLS appearance.

Although first-team opportunities have been limited this season, Berchimas did earn some minutes during the 2026 US Open Cup, even scoring a goal against Charlotte Independence in the Round of 32. Where Berchimas has had the greatest impact, however, is with CLTFC's MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, Crown Legacy FC. So far in the 2026 Crown Legacy season, he has made 14 starts and earned eight goals and two assists.

At just 18 years old, Berchimas has been one of Crown Legacy's primary attacking threats and is among the league's leading scorers. His ability to dominate in MLS NEXT Pro foreshadows a promising future for the young winger and attests to his recent call-up to the U-20 USMNT.

The call-up also represents another milestone in Berchimas' international career. He has now earned 22 caps for the U.S. Youth National Team age groups, highlighting the confidence U.S. Soccer has placed in him throughout his development.

Despite being one of the younger players eligible for the U-20 squad, Berchimas has continued to play above his age group, reinforcing his reputation as one of the country's top young prospects.

His talent has not gone unnoticed overseas, either. In 2022, Berchimas was invited to trial with Bayern Munich at their academy.

International attention around Berchimas has since intensified. Most recently, reports in February mentioned advanced transfer talks between Bayern Munich and Charlotte FC.

While no official move has been announced, the continued attention from one of Europe's biggest clubs underscores Berchimas' growing reputation. For now, however, his focus shifts to representing the United States at the CONCACAF U-20 Championship, where another strong performance could further elevate his profile on the international stage. The 2026 CONCACAF Championship will be available to stream on the official Concacaf GO app or website, as well as across FOX Sports networks. The tournament will kick off on Friday, July 24th, and run through August 9th. Berchimas and the U-20 USMNT play their first match against Haiti on Saturday, July 25th at 10:00 PM, available on FS2.
