While Charlotte FC is currently on a three-week break after being knocked out during the group stage of the Leagues Cup, many of their young prospects have been getting noticed on both the development team and on international duty.

Here is a rundown of some of Charlotte's prospects who have had notable performances:

Nimfasha Berchimas - LW - 16

Nimfasha Berchimas has had multiple stand-out moments this season. He became the first homegrown signing in Charlotte FC history to debut in MLS. He has also been a regular part of Charlotte's development team Crown Legacy FC.

Most recently, the young winger was called up to the U20 USYNT for the U20 CONCACAF Championship. During the tournament, he earned two starts, the second was in the final where he hit a rocket goal from outside the box.

This is his second strong stint with the USYNT. He was also called up to the U17 team for the FIFA U17 World Cup, where he scored three goals. Berchimas now has eight total goals throughout his USYNT career.

Aron John - CM - 18

Aron John has caught fire since he initially won Charlotte FC's inaugural Academy Player of the Year award last season. In 2024 the young midfielder has earned a regular starting spot with Crown Legacy, a pro contract, and is now tied for second in MLS NEXT Pro in goal contributions (7g/7a).

John is currently signed to a Crown Legacy contract but his deal includes a guaranteed First Team contract. This means he could get his shot to play in front of the Charlotte fanbase at Bank of America Stadium sooner rather than later.

Nick Scardina - RB/RW - 23

Nick Scardina earned his MLS debut last month and has started to rise through the ranks closer to the First Team. Still, his most regular minutes this year have come at Crown Legacy, where he's had nine starts and six goal contributions (4g/2a).

The 23-year-old has been playing a lot more at right winger this season, compared to last year where he played more at fullback or wingback. He is a SuperDraft pick who has been overlooked a bit because of the success of his fellow 2023 selections, Andrew Privett and Patrick Agyemang, but he is another name to keep an eye on in the future.
