The 2026 MLS All-Star Ballot: Charlotte FC with no one in the Top 5 as things stand

On Wednesday, May 13, the MLS All-Star Ballot opened for players, fans, and media to cast their votes for the first 11 of the 26-man MLS All-Star roster. Each of the three groups will count for a third of the voting value for the 11 initial players picked.

After the first 11 are selected, MLS All-Star Head Coach Dean Smith (Charlotte FC) will select 13 players, and MLS Commissioner Don Garber will select two players.

The voting ballot follows a 4-3-3 formation, so each group will choose one goalkeeper, one right back, two center backs, one left back, one defensive midfielder, two attacking midfielders, and three forwards.

MLS released the initial results, and they showed that no one from All-Star hosts Charlotte FC is in the top 5 at any position out of the gate, with still a couple of days left to vote.

All MLS All-Star events will be in Charlotte, with the 2026 Skills Challenge taking place on July 28 at Truist Field and the MLS All-Star Game on July 29 at Bank of America Stadium against the Liga MX All-Stars.
